Overview:

The Senior Manager, International Benefits is responsible for managing our global employee benefit programs, policies, tools and vendors to ensure that we are: (a) providing competitive employee benefits around the world in a cost efficient manner; (b) supporting our employees and internal clients (HR, Finance, Legal, Treasury, Communications, Risk Management) needs, and (c) providing corporate oversight, guidance, expertise and assistance. 

 

Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Director, Global Benefits and will:

•             Manage our globally insured employee benefits including:

o             Providing recommendations regarding additions and removals of contracts and changes to pool structure

o             Managing relationship with pooling providers

o             Managing relationship with global broker (Aon Hewitt)

o             Distributing international dividends

•             Manage various aspects of our global benefit programs (Business Travel Accident, Business Travel Medical, Expatriate Medical & Dental, International Travel Assistance) including:

o             Communications to employees, expatriates, and HR teams

o             Annual renewals

o             Vendor management

•             Provide guidance, oversight and assistance to our Canadian Benefits Specialist regarding:

o             Annual enrollment

o             Annual audits

o             H&W, Pension and Retirement plan administration

o             Retirement committee presentations

o             Managing relationships with brokers, vendors, consultants and outside counsel

•             Manage the continuing benefit integration resulting from the October 2011 acquisition of Diversely, with other company benefit programs in 23 countries. Review of existing programs in another 26 countries by working with our global broker,  local colleagues, and other advisors to ensure adherence to strategy and achievement of projected savings and deadlines.

•             Implement and oversee global benefit governance strategy including:

o             Maintenance of global benefit inventory

o             Assistance in expansion into new countries

o             M&A activities

o             Assistance with preparation of pension and retirement information for annual report

o             Partnering with regional and local HR colleagues

o             Identification and dissemination of internal best practices

o             Participation in relevant forums, industry groups and conferences

o             Keeping abreast of and identifying industry trends

•             Assisting the broader Total Rewards teams on special projects as well as peak activity times (Open Enrollment, Year-End global salary review, etc.)

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

•             Bachelors degree

•             Minimum of 5 years of broad based benefits experience

•             Minimum of 3 years of international benefits experience or benefit consulting experience at an international company

Additional Qualifications:

•             Strong project management experience

•             Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills; ADP, SAP or PeopleSoft experience is a plus

•             Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment 

•             Actuarial or benefit (IFEB, PMI) qualifications a plus

•             Foreign language skills a plus
