Senior Platform Architect / Technology Director
Job Description;
Huawei has become an industry leader in fixed and mobile networks. The future of networking is moving strongly towards a converged model for CT & IT technologies. (e.g., rich communications suite, enterprise IT and media). In response to a growing demand from our customers, Huawei has started a research and development effort focus on providing a scalable, multi-tenant computing and communication infrastructure platform capable of serving the needs of CT & IT customers.
Huawei’s is looking to hire a key architect to enable Huawei’s elastic & agile Platform comprising of OS and middleware capabilities. The Program aims to provide a scalable “generic” platform supporting not only telecom capability but also IT based services.
Responsibilities:
Huawei is seeking an experienced engineering professional with a proven track record for leading high performance engineering teams to design or prototype to a schedule. Responsibilities for the Platform include:
To analyze technology trends & define the architecture in OS, web and telecom communication area, towards an “agile” & “scalable” platform for building services related to CT & IT technologies.
To cooperate with the HQ research team and product teams on related projects and provide guidance to the engineers to find innovative solutions. Lead the agile R&D team to develop the product or prototype as a pilot process for the official product development.
To setup a local team to work on the research project based on above content and guide the junior engineers.
Be a key spokesperson for Huawei’s platform activities Aid in the selection of technology partners
Coordinate roadmap of deliverables with multiple cross functional teams in Huawei
Qualifications
A successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
A minimum of fifteen years experience as a computer engineer/scientist working on the research and design of systems.
A minimum of five years managing teams of more than 10 software engineering and/or computer architects in the design of large software and storage systems.
Experience in leading teams to define architectures for products or systems designed to support core OS and middleware technologies.
A deep understanding in
General purpose OS (Linux)
Special purpose OS’s (RTOS & embedded systems)
Communication & network technologies
Storage, distributed storage capability and their relationship to databases file systems and big data support
Middleware & WEB services (App & Web servers, SIP, ESB, CEP, BPM,…)
Some knowledge of various web application technologies, including but not limited to XML, HTML / XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, etc
A proven track delivering large software systems to a predefined schedule
Experience creating and managing product roadmaps
Experience coordinating and leading cross functional teams
Education Requirements
Master degree or a PhD in Computer Science or related field
