Job Summary:
Under the limited direction of the Director, Total Rewards & HR Systems, the Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for the management of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s benefits programs; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations; assisting with the planning, implementation, and management of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), performance management activities, and compensation programs; Benchmark and researching industry best practices in an effort to create and maintain a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining the best talent; Providing recommendations for program and process improvements to leadership.
Job Functions:
Ensure Total Reward benefit plans enable BGCA to competitively attract and retain the best talent
•Benchmark and research benefit market trends to ensure BGCA’s benefit programs are competitive and meeting the needs of current employees.
•Oversee the implementation and coordination of organizational wellness activities.
•Administer and monitor the processing of benefit documentation in compliance with policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements; provide input on the design, implementation, and consistent and accurate updates of employee information.
•Ensure FMLA, Worker’s Compensation and Long and Short term disability guidelines are compliant with policy, contractual provisions, and relevant laws and regulations; and provide individual benefits employee counseling, as appropriate.
•Complete quarterly benefit audits: health, dental, vision, long term and short term disability, flexible spending accounts, dependent care assistance accounts, and life insurance plans.
•Oversee the implementation and coordination of organizational wellness initiatives and promotion of employee engagement and involvement.
•Ensure billing process is completed each month including the on-time payment of monthly invoices and reconciliation of HRIS and provider records.
•Compile, analyze, and reconcile financial and statistical data, and generate a range of financial cost and statistical projections for Directors.
•Participate in employee benefit surveys. Provide recommendations for improvement to leadership team.
•Stay abreast of mandates impacting the benefits administration function, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations.
•Coordinate and deliver periodic benefits information updates for staff, including new employee orientation, open enrollment, and legislative updates impacting staff.
•Serve as a reference point of contact for local Clubs.
•Oversee the annual benefit enrollment process to include: insurance contract revisions and renewals; coordinating and facilitating open enrollment meetings; updated rates in HRIS; and ensuring all paperwork is processed in a timely manner.
•Investigate and resolve non-routine problems; serve as primary liaison with third-party administrators and regulatory sources in the resolution of specific employee/retiree concerns.
Compensation Administration
•Maintain thorough understanding of Boys & Girls Clubs of America compensation philosophy, policies and procedures.
•Assist Director, Compensation & Benefits Administration with job evaluation tools, FLSA classifications, and market studies.
•Research federal and state laws, rules and regulations and makes recommendations related to FLSA, minimum wage compliance, and impact on compensation policies and procedures.
•Compile incumbent salary data from various sources and participates in external salary surveys; complete third party salary surveys as received and provide results to evaluate BGCA’s competitiveness.
•Prepare analytical reports of compensation projections and trends, structure analysis, and data presentations.
Performance Management
•Assist in the planning and development of the performance management activities.
•Provide technical support to end users of the Talent Development Center.
Human Resources Information Systems
•Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures for HRIS.
•Backup the HRIS Analyst in the collaboration and dissemination of all data from the HRIS through the generation of reports (standard, ad hoc, and batch) and/or data transfers as scheduled and upon request by Human Resources or other approved users.
•Participate in the analysis and comparison of data to ensure accurate reporting and processing of compensation and benefit information.
•Train users in utilizing the HRIS for maximum potential and provide employee support for the Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service interfaces of the HRIS (HR Express).
•Provide content updates to the Human Resources section of the BGCA website.
