UNIX Engineer specializing in AIX downtown DallaS, TX
Participate as a technical expert on an infrastructure project team in
a large corporate environment.
The majority of the work will be focused on IBM AIX 7.x Power7
platforms and RHEL Linux on x86 and VMware, limited Sun Solaris support.
Responsibilities include delivering quality products according to
project schedules. Some on-call duties are required.
7+ years of experience as an IBM AIX 7.x, 6.x Systems Engineer is
required.
7+ years of experience as an RedHat Linux 5.x and 6.x Systems Engineer
is required.
1+ years of experience as an Oracle Linux 5.x and 6.x Systems Engineer
is preferred.
7+ years of experience with Symantec (VERITAS) Storage Foundation High
Availability high availability products, VCS, VCFS, VVR, VOM required.
5+ years of experience with Oracle Active Data Guard required.
Must possess a solid understanding of AIX-EE 7.x using PowerVM,
(PowerHA to lesser degree), System Director,
Performance ToolBox, deployment of application and database LPAR's
leveraging Multiple Shared Processor Pools in local High Availability,
Metro Cluster and Geographical Fail-overs configurations leveraging the
Symantec (VERITAS) Storage Foundation High Availability portfolio of
products.
Must possess a solid understanding of RHEL 6.x / Oracle Linux using
VMware vCloud / vSphere 5.1 Enterprise+ plus VERITAS ApplicationHA
components for deployment of highly available application Linux VM's in
a Local High Availability, Metro Cluster and Geographical Fail-overs
configurations leveraging the Symantec VERITAS Operations Manager.
Must have the ability to problem solve and remediate complex server
hardware, operating system, layered software (I.E. VERITAS), technology
stack software (I.E. Oracle DBEE) supporting enterprise class
applications delivering robust and highly availability solutions.
Experience with enterprise services such as Directory Services such as
Tivoli LDAP, Active Directory, backup software Tivoli Storage Manager
and Symantec Net Backup. Systems level tools such as, NMON, DTrace, and
UNIX Shell Scripting languages, Born, Korn Perl, etc.
Experience with Enterprise Storage both Fiber Channel and IP in a
highly available environment, including dynamic multipathing, shared
clustered file systems and supporting high availability configurations.
IP networks, both 10GB and 1GB, load balancing and ability to assist
application developers, Security Network co-workers develop firewall
configurations.
The application environment is Oracle Utilities and PeopleSoft, IBM
Maximo, Sterling plus BPM, Tibco, and supporting technologies such as
Oracle DBEE 11G+, Weblogic 11G+, IBM WAS, DB2, MQ Series. Experience
with this application stack is preferred.
Hardware environment included IBM Power7 Servers (P770, P760, P740,
PureFlex), HP c7000 enclosures and BL Class blades, Cisco Nexus Network,
Brocade DCX Fabric, HP/3PAR T800, IBM XIV's (Gen2 & 3) and NetApp V
Class filers. SPARC platform is M and T Class servers
