JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager, Compensation and Benefits assists in the planning and developing of global compensation policies and practices as well as the administration of the US based programs. This position is also responsible for the planning and administration of US Health and Welfare benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Other duties may be assigned: • Direct Report to Executive Director, Total Rewards, HR Services & HRIS, this position is responsible for managing a Compensation Analyst and working with the HR Services team to insure day to day administration of compensation and health and welfare benefit programs. • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to HR team. • Provides advice to HR and Business Partners on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs. • Manages the PeopleSoft administration of direct compensation (base pay and incentive programs) including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions taken on salaried employees. • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting market data. • Manage salary survey participation and data analysis to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved. • Keep apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance. • Administer US based health and welfare employee benefits programs for both bargained and non-bargained employees including managing broker and outsourced administration vendor relationships. • Oversee preparation and distribution of benefit related communications including open enrollment materials, employee meetings, and new hire benefit materials. • Manage compliance of health and welfare programs including required 5500 and SAR preparation as well as other required notices and audits. • Evaluate, recommend and implement benefit plan changes that meet the company's objectives for improving overall employee health and welfare, are market competitive, and are consistent with the corporation's financial objectives. • Manage the transition of health and welfare benefit plans for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. • Assists in development of company bargaining proposals for employee benefits and analyzes union benefits demands. Obtains and prepares cost data for company and union proposals and final settlements. • Plan, develop, promote and implement wellness programs to facilitate health cost management and overall employee and family health.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree with Human Resources or other Business related concentration. Masters Degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years in compensation and benefits related areas with publicly traded organizations (> $1 billion – revenue)
• Thorough knowledge of FLSA, ERISA, ERISA and other key areas of compensation and benefits regulation and legislation.
• CEBS, CBP, CCP or related certification preferred.
• 3+ years supervisory experience preferred.
