Dear JAMES:
We need a Thin Film/MEMS/Semiconductor Manufacturing Manager for an East Bay company in the Dublin area. Was wondering if this might interest you?
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day production of proprietary thin film/optical components. This position will manage 3-5 Process Engineers and 4-5 Technicians to: a) achieve the production requirements; b) maintain the equipment and raw material inventory; c) monitor and analyze the production results to determine improvement opportunities; d) drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process; participate in the development and introduction of new products; and f) periodically report status and progress to management.
- Management of a low volume production environment, with ability to make controlled incremental improvements.
- Extensive experience with semiconductor processes, such as lithography, wet and dry etching, and thin film deposition. Experience with semiconductor and/or MEMs manufacturing best practices. Must also be familiar with thin film measurement tools.
- Management of small teams to effectively complete development tasks, reports, documentation.
- Use of analytical tools, such as SPC or DOE software to create plans and analyze results. Experience with JMP software is particularly valuable
- Some experience with optics, and optical components and their characterization.
- Execute projects using project management skills; project charter, requirements, stakeholders, resources, timeline and Gantt chart – utilizing matrixed resources.
- Able to organize work in a dynamic environment. Should have a demonstrated ability to critically analyze problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to produce timely reports and keep detailed logbooks or notebooks.
· Must be capable of maintaining a professional and organized work place at all times
Required Qualifications
· BS in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent. MS or PhD preferred.
· 8+ years' experience in a semiconductor or MEMS manufacturing environment.
· Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of semiconductor processes. Hands-on experience in process development.
· Ability to manage effectively in and contribute technically/individually in a team environment
· Ability to handle the fast-paced, ever-changing demands of a high-tech startup.
